ANTI-G20 PROTESTS IN TORONTO: TRANSPORTATION TO TORONTO FROM MONTREAL

ANTI-G20 PROTESTS IN TORONTO:

This coming June 25-27, the G8 and the G20 are meeting in Toronto, Canada’s financial capital The leaders of the G20 will be surrounded by a security fence, thousands of police and a billion dollar security operation.

BUSES TO TORONTO:

Anti-capitalist groups based in Montreal are organizing buses to transport demonstrators to the Toronto actions. Buses in Montreal will be leaving in two departures on FRIDAY, JUNE 25: at 6AM and at 6PM. All buses are returning on SUNDAY, JUNE 27 to Montreal (which means everyone taking buses from Montreal will be in Toronto for two nights).

IF YOU WANT TO RESERVE A PLACE ON THE BUS TO TORONTO FROM MONTREAL, e-mail all of the following information to transportg20@gmail.com BEFORE SUNDAY, JUNE 20:

- How many places you are reserving.
- What time you’d like to leave from Montreal (6am or 6pm on FRIDAY, JUNE 25).
- How much money you will contribute (we are asking for a minimum $20 per person contribution for a return bus trip to Toronto) As well, if you are reserving a place on our buses, please provide the following info to reserve housing:
- Do you require housing in Toronto? For how many people? Do you have any special needs? Can you sleep in a tent and sleeping back outdoors in a back yard?

Please reserve AS SOON AS POSSIBLE at transportg20@gmail.com, as we will only reserve buses to reflect reservations IN ADVANCE.

NOTE: It will cost $20 per person (return) to take the buses to Toronto. We encourage anyone who can afford it to contribute more money to help subsidize people who can’t afford the $20 fee. We have reserved a limited amount of spaces for people from low-incomes. Please let us know if you can donate more money.

ABOUT HOUSING: If you are reserving a space on the buses from Montreal to Toronto on June 25, please send your housing request to us – transportg20@gmail.com. If you are planning to arrive BEFORE Friday, June 25 (ie. you are not taking one of the CLAC2010/RAGE buses from Montreal) then you should arrange your own housing in Toronto directly with the Toronto Community Mobilization Network: http://g20.torontomobilize.org/visitorhousing

ABOUT CARS: If you are driving to Toronto, we encourage you to join us at our departure point on Friday, June 25 at 6am or at 6pm, especially if you can offer a space in your car. Please contact transportg20@gmail.com if you are able to join our caravan to Toronto from Montreal. If you are joining us, please also share your housing requests so we can pass them on to Toronto.

CONFIRMING YOUR RESERVATION: You will receive a confirmation code for your reservation by e-mail. Your transport request will only be considered confirmed when you receive this code. Please have this code noted when you arrive to take the buses on Friday, June 25, as we will priortize spots for those people who have reserved in advance. If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible in advance.

If you using the transportation provided by CLAC2010 and RAGE, we request that you respect the security and safety of your fellow passengers. Please do not bring any drugs or weapons on your person or in your baggage, as this can compromise the secuity of everyone.

What you should bring :

- a backpack
- comfortable clothing and shoes
- a change of clothes
- a sleeping bag
- a tent (if possible)
- a water bottle
- nuts, fruits, and other snacks
- some money
- scarves and lemon juice (or white vinegar) to reduce the effects of tear gas
